District Virtual Options Program

While remaining students of the district, ORCA supports districts by serving students who are:

  • Need a Virtual Option Due to 3% - Customized virtual and overflow solutions

  • Expelled

  • Medically fragile

Oregon Charter Academy (ORCA) provides districts a virtual option for students in need of high school credit recovery, alternative placement due to behavioral or medical needs, as well as an option for a GED preparation program leading students to a GED. ORCA provides access to its platforms, curriculum, teachers, and  a Chromebook for GED tract students and full-time alternative placement students. ORCA is a highly rated and experienced virtual option and recently received an accreditation score of 377.5 out of 400.

OUR DISTRICT PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

  • Need a Virtual Option Due to 3% - Customized virtual and overflow solutions: Our turnkey virtual learning solutions enable districts to offer a district-sponsored online education option for students, including those in districts that have exceeded the 3% enrollment threshold for virtual charter schools. These flexible options also provide an effective pathway for students who are not thriving in a traditional school setting, helping them access a learning environment better suited to their needs.

  • Alternative placement for expelled students: A structured, longer-term virtual learning environment for students who have been expelled or otherwise need placement outside their community school. ORCA provides certified teachers, curriculum, technology, learning platforms, counseling and instructional support.

  • Support for medically fragile students: A comprehensive virtual option for students whose medical conditions make regular attendance in a school building difficult or temporarily impossible. Students can continue progressing academically from a safe and appropriate learning environment.
